Rear Admiral Sarvek Station Commander's Office May 20, 2362
The Vulcan admiral sat in the station commander's office, looking around and sipping rather strong coffee. The replicators were still being calibrated. Well, that was to be expected, given that she had invaded into her new abodes before the metaphorical ribbon had been cut. Ah, well.
The level of scientific ingenuity and engineering fortitude that had gone into making the new station made up for the acrid taste in her mouth, especially since some sugary good would have offset it easily. Besides, the remaining construction teams were working overtime to get everything ready for the celebration that evening. Granted, everything had been tested and retested ad nauseam, but engineers never really were pleased with their work. That was why the station was delayed in coming off the line, after all -- everything that had been installed had to be re-installed six times to make the neurotic commander from the SCE happy. Well, not happy. Satisfied, at any rate.
So Sarvek sipped her coffee and requested a sweet croissant to accompany it. With a skeleton and temporary crew out on the command deck beyond and a dim twinkling from the stars outside, it made the station seem even deeper in night than a starbase usually felt. At least the festivities downstairs would yield something... livelier.
It may have seemed odd for a Vulcan to yearn for anything other than the quiet and peace of meditation and silence, but Sarvek had "grown up" in Starfleet, as it were, on a rather lively vessel. It had certainly and obviously produced a number of unhealthy idiosyncrasies, like desires for particular baked goods and caffeinated beverages, but it had also had bred in Sarvek a uniquely social sense of camaraderie with the crew. Vulcans did not have much use for such things, but humans certainly did. Humans, and Tellarites, and Horta, and almost every other species that she had served with. And her first few postings had solidified that more than most would have.
She delicately drained her coffee, standing and peering out at the shining blackness beyond the docking bays below the window, and adjusted her dress uniform. It was down to a party with her, and it was time to bust a bottle of human sparkling wine on the starbase's dome.

Paul O'Bannon Sihaya
"Please tell me the power grid is finally squared away!" Paul shouted to the back of the room as he checked the hookups for the Dabo table. The amount of work they had put in trying to get this place up and running had them all on edge. They needed to have everything ready for the opening ceremony to make a good impression and things were still not even close to that.
"Engineering says so," Louis's voice came floating up from the holo-suites. "But I haven't seen any evidence yet. We have power for the main breakers but getting it to the right sub-systems seems too much for the computers at the moment."
"The Bar is all set," a came a sweet alto voice from near the door. "We got in the last shipment of the good stuff. The glasses are all arranged, replicators tuned, ice chest setup, phaser charged..." Paul could almost hear the smile in her voice. "At least something will be ready to serve when the crowd arrives."
"You had the easy bit," came Louis's voice again. "You haven't spent the last several days arguing with station administration over power allocation tables."
"Neither did you," Paul reminded him wryly. "As I recall, I had to do all the talking because you were too busy with power lines."
"You're also the highest ranker here so that is your responsibility," came back Louis's retort. "I am just a lowly tech Sargent."
"Right..." drawled Livia from the bar, "so lowly you just remind us how important you are eight times a day."
"Eight!?" Paul interjected, "I thought it was ten at the very least."
"Wait," Livia said, "you think?"
Paul smiled as he finished the connections and the strange round gaming table lit up and a sound synthesizer shouted "Dabo!" He noticed that when that lit up the other gaming tables lit up as well. "Power is on in the games area. Running diagnostics."
"Thank the good lord," breathed Louis as he came into the main room. "The panel seems to be working. We have main power established here and in all the holo-suites. I have the basic programs downloading. Wish there was more time for testing."
"It will be alright. Everything is a ready as we can make it. In a few hours there will be a dedication ceremony and then the real work begins." Paul heard the *pop* of a flying cork and looked over to see Livia filling three flute glasses from a champagne bottle. She indicated the glasses and Paul, Louis, and Livia all picked one up.
"Here's to us," Paul started.
"And those like us," Livia followed.
"Damm few left," Louis continued the traditional toast.
"And we hope to see them..." Paul smiled as they built to the end.
"TOO SEE THEM ALL AT OUR BAR!" With laughter and the clink of glasses the Sihaya announced itself open for business.

Rear Admiral Sarvek Sihaya May 20, 2362
The right eyebrow on Sarvek's face was already raised when she walked into the station's entertainment establishment, dull colors all around that were certain to turn some shade of neon by the end of the night. She walked along quietly, announcing herself -- albeit at least an hour early for the proceedings. It was clearly of the utmost importance to all members of the station, civilian and Starfleet alike, that the inaugural ceremonies were in order. The incoming crew, particularly those transferred from starship postings, were likely expecting something with a bit of panache.
As she approached the bar, she attempted to match face to the images on file for the staff. "Mister O'Bannon?" she asked, taking stock of the varied bottles of liquor and assorted foodstuffs on hand behind the counter.

Paul O'Bannon Sihaya
O'Bannon turned at the sound of the voice but before he could respond a female voice barked clearly, "Shun, Admiral on the deck!" A lifetime of military training kicked in automatically and he stiffened to the attention posture that the TOs at Basic had spent so much time 'encouraging' him and the other boots to assume when an officer came into a room. Without looking he could feel Louis assume the same posture. Once a Marine... O'Bannon thought as he began to relax and listened to Livia enjoy a low chuckle at the pair's expense. He flicked her a warning glance and almost smiled as he saw the mischievous twinkle in her eyes. Damm swabbies. He turned to face the woman who had come into the bar and found to his surprise that he was looking down at her. At all of 5'10" O'Bannon was used to being one of the smallest beings in a room especially when dealing with Marines who were usually chosen for their physical qualities. He took a moment to look the newcomer over. The smaller figure was a female Vulcan who was several inches smaller than O'Bannon. She had the very serious demeanor that was typical of Vulcans but her red hair made O'Bannon wonder if she had a wilder side. She didn't have the build of the fighting disciplines so he assumed her background was science or engineering but no sign or symbol beyond the command gold and her Rear Admiral pips gave him any indication of her status. Paul had done some preliminary checking and knew this to be Sarvek the commanding officer of the new Starbase.
"Admiral," O'Bannon said warmly. "Welcome to the Sihaya. May it be the crossroads and replenishment of the spirit and body that a dessert spring brings to you and your crew in the years to come."

After receiving her new transfer orders, Alice boarded the first shuttle to Starbase Capricorn, barely reading her orders, once she boarded the shuttle, she had time to read her orders fully.. 'You have been assigned to the Science department, on the Space station Capricorn, ..., You are to report to Rear Admiral Sarvek, a pond your arrival, to get your new assignment..', "Shuttle Apollo, requesting docking clearance..", "Shuttle Apollo, ducking request granted, proceed to docking port 5b.."..
Ens. Skye boarded the station, she barely had any belongings beside a picture of her parents, sister back on Vulcan, 9 years ago, when they still lived together as a family, Alice treasured her memories although few, that was all she had left of her family, her sister is alive somewhere but they haven't been in contact, since Alice were sent to live with their grandmother on Vulcan..

Rear Admiral Sarvek Sihaya May 20, 2362
"Admiral," O'Bannon said warmly. "Welcome to the Sihaya. May it be the crossroads and replenishment of the spirit and body that a dessert spring brings to you and your crew in the years to come." The admiral looked around the bar, nodding with approval. It had been a rather taxing day, what with all of the "very important persons" coming aboard the new station, but she was... mollified... to see that all was in order. "Thank you," she replied. "You and your own crew seem to have been settling in nicely. And it is good to see a..." she cast her eyes out towards the rest of the recreation corridor beyond the Sihaya, " legitimate business enterprise taking hold here. Some of the applications that were received were less than savory. Is there anything I can do to assist in your preparations?"

MCPO Vladislav Luca Shuttlebay 2 May 20, 2362 - 14:00
Luca received his marching orders from the Admiral and looked over the incoming transfer log. Good. Right on schedule.
"Shuttle 1," he commed. "You are welcome aboard."
May 20, 2362 - 14:30
Luca thought he was having a "senior moment" when he saw the similar names come aboard, but after a quick check, he saw that there were in fact two separate officers. He hopped in a turbolift up to the operations deck, when he saw the first of the new arrivals make her way upstairs.
"You just missed the Admiral. She's down inspecting the site for the welcome ceremony tonight. You can both head down," he said, "and meet her there." He gave a smile especially to the more recent of the women, who seemed more...friendly, somehow.

Ens. Alice Skye, Ens. Alicia Skye Operations May 20, 2362 - 14:35
As Alice arrived the Admiral wasn't present, so she just decided to wait until she arrives.. After about 30 minutes, someone arrives by the turbolift, as Alicia entered and said "Ensign Skye, reporting as ordered, Ma'am!", Alicia said with a hint of joy in her voice, while saluting the empty room, except for Ens. Skye.. As Alice turned to look at the new Ens. Skye, she were at a loss for words.. Alicia looked Alice over a few times, before saying "And you might you be??" Alicia said confused by this womans appearence, "I'm Ens. Alicia Skye, and also your twin sister.." Alice said while holding her family photo, for Alicia to see.. Alicia looked at the photo, and saw what looked like two adults, and two girls, looking similar in appearence.. "So I have a sister.." Alicia said not knowing if she should be over joyed or confused.. Before they could talk more, another Officer arrived and said "You just missed the Admiral. She's down inspecting the site for the welcome ceremony tonight. You can both head down," he said, "and meet her there." He gave a smile especially to Alicia, who seemed more...friendly, somehow. Alicia & Alice greeted the Officer, Alicia's greeting were on the more friendly side, while Alice's greeting were a standard Vulcan greeting.. "We'll head there now.." Alicia said excited, over joyed and bursting with questions, as Alicia left, Alice walked closely behind her, until they arrived at the turbolift, and said "Sihaya", the turbolift moved them swiftly to the other deck, and they walked over to the Sihaya, and as they entered and found the Admiral, they both said, "Ens. Skye, reporting for duty, Ma'am", unison, with Alice a typical cold Vulcan voice, and Alicia with a more Humanly voice..

Lieutenant Tegau Delaney Her Quarters, Sihaya May 20, 2362
Tegau dumped her bags in the middle of her room, looking around the space. More that adequate- she had never needed much. She changed quickly into her dress uniform and ran a comb through the tangles in her hair before rebinding it in a ponytail. A ceremony, then bed, and then finally she could inspect the medical facilities. She turned for the door, suppression the almost physical itch she felt to explore medical. Tugging her uniform straight, she exited her room and headed for the place hosting the ceremony- somewhere called Sihaya.
It didn't take long to find, thank goodness for turbolifts and schematics. Tegau paused as she entered the bar, grinning despite herself. Of course, it would be. She moved to the side, grinning at the sight of identical twins reporting for duty to the Vulcan Admiral, and nodded to the others she passed, waiting until the Admiral was finished with the twin officers to report in.

Greta Seiben - Transport Ship, Sihaya 20 May 2362
It was an uneventful flight to the station from her home in LA to this brand-new space station in whatever corner of space the station inhabited. But Greta was excited about it. Her assignment on the Delaware was alright, but she didn't enjoy the hours and odd schedule of her life as a relief operations officer aboard the ship. But, it was onto bigger and better things with this new posting. Aboard the transport vessel ferrying her to hew new assignment, Greta kept herself busy binge watching her favourite shows on Fed-Flix and reading up on the latest trends in various fashion holo-mags that she was subscribed to. The trip was long enough for her to catch up on her shows and offered plenty of time to stare at the streaking stars as the ship travelled along at warp speed.
After more time that Greta would've liked, she finally had her first look at the new space station which would serve as her assignment and new home. A nice looking design, Greta gathered her belongings and put them into her luggage. For the rest of her stuff, though, she arranged to have beamed over to her quarters on the station. Serving aboard a space station will be interesting, Greta thought to herself. She wondered what kind of facilities it might have, and more importantly, what kind of shops are there. They probably won't have the latest Prada handbags or Jimmy Choos but she was sure (and hopeful) the selection would be good.
A short time later, the transport ship docked into its berth and Greta soon made her way out of the transport ship and into the station for the fist time ever. As it was a new station, there were still construction personnel still performing the final touches around the station. It still smelled of new paint and wood and other stuff. Was kind of nice. Following the directions on her PADD that she got from the helpful security officer, Greta made her way to her quarters. It wasn't the biggest, but it'll do. It was certainly a lot bigger than what she had on the Delaware and already found the rest of her stuff beamed in and neatly clustered together by her bed.
Greta made herself busy arranging her stuff and hanging her clothes in the closet, which she was glad was generously sized for someone of her rank. Most of her clothes were Starfleet issued, but she also brought along some nice dresses, blouses, shoes and other things. You never know when the occasion may arise for a nice dress or something. Her PADD beeped informing her of some kind of commissioning ceremony taking place in the station restaurant. "Shihaya? How the hell do you pronounce that?" she said to herself. Since it was a Starfleet function, she dressed in her standard dress uniform and fixed her hair and makeup.
A little bit of lipstick, and working on her eyelashes and some blush. Still within regulation, but Greta thought she looked nice. She spritzed some of her favourite Yves St Laurent perfume brushed a strand of her long, straight strawberry blonde hair from her face and headed to where the function was taking place, also grabbing along her transfer orders in case she needed them. It was a short turbo lift ride later, but she made it in one piece. There were already quite a good number of people there, naturally none of which she knew, but was eager to meet since they'd soon be her crew mates and stuff.
She spotted a set of twins, a blonde girl in a ponytail that looked to be around her age and a stately looking Vulcan whom she assumed to be the station CO.. the very same one who served aboard the same ship as her great grandfather nearly a century ago. He had told her some stories about their time together on the Hood and still found it interesting a Vulcan could develop such a liking to donuts and other pastries. Eating such unhealthy foodstuffs would be highly illogical, would it not? She stood next to the girl with the ponytail. Greta was a bit taller than her, but Greta liked the streaks in her hair and wondered if she did that herself or hired someone to do it. Not wanting to her rude or anything she listened in and waited to report in as an official member of the station crew.

Tegau Delaney - Sihaya 20 May 2362
Tegau turned to look as someone stood by her, and smiled at the tall skinny girl who stood next to her with hair a bit more red than her own. Glancing back at the Admiral and finding her still busy, she leaned toward the newcomer in an almost conspiratorial fashion.
"Twins are near sure to be trouble, don't you think?" she asked in a low voice with a broad smile at Greta. She extended her hand. "Tegau Delaney. And you are?"

Greta Seiben - Shihaya 20 May 2362
Greta smiled and shook Tegau's hand. "Yes, I've learned twins can be trouble. But maybe also double the fun. I'm Greta Seiben. It's nice to meet you." Greta spent a little longer than usual shaking her hand, but not long enough to make it feel awkward. Tegau's hand felt soft, but felt like she'd spent considerable time working outdoors, a stark contrast to Greta's soft manicured hands, which hadn't really seen much physical labour. She also wasn't sure what accent Tegau spoke with -- Irish perhaps? She wondered. "Waiting to report in the Admiral as well?" she asked, looking at Admiral Sarvek who was busy talking to other people. She wouldn't be so so rude as to interrupt, but it was nice to have someone to talk to in the meantime. Tegau seemed like a nice lady, and Greta hoped to spend more time getting to know her, the twins, the admiral and everyone else on the station.
