Mission Orientation
The crew of the Aquarius has been dispatched to retrieve a dreadnought from the borders of Tzenkethi space, the species with whom the Federation has been in a protracted war. Gaining the Tzenkethi's most important weapon would be a substantial feat for Starfleet, but the location of the vessel -- adrift, powerless, and spitting radiation -- is indeterminate. While en route to its last known position, Alpha Shift has established that it is drifting in the "neutral" zone of the Gorn and Tholian states, two powers that share vessel technology similar to Aquarius' sensors at distant range.
In the meantime, Engineering has been working around the clock to install a prototype for what has been tentatively labeled a "Holo Room" in one of the unused cargo bays. Yeomans fetch coffee and padds, the medical staff has been welcoming aboard new crew picked up at our last starbase stop, and the ship's doctor has seized control of the communications relays for pranks.
All in a day's work: enter Second Shift.

Lieutenant Ezekiel Powell
Ship's Counselor
USS Aquarius
Counselor's Log
After a significant period of of repair and reconstruction, the Aquarius is off again on its latest assignment. Once again, we're on the periphery of the war effort, exactly where our aging vessel belongs. Contrary to the beliefs of our Captain and our Chief Engineer, I do believe we're better served out here than on the front lines.
Due to our new mission, I've been removed from duty in the medical bay and allowed to return to my primary duty full-time. It seems rather likely that the influx of crew will necessitate more full-time availability than I've been able to provide in the past.
End Log.
Counselor's Personal Log, Supplemental
I've spent an inordinate amount of my R&R working on my latest assignment from Captain Quintus. While she and I agree on almost nothing else, I'm happy that we're on the same page here.
I do, however, have some reservations with this assignment. The Captain wants a weapon that can interact with Tzenkethi technology to bring about catastrophic failure. I'm more than willing to help with this, of course, but I find it outside of my skill set. I'll be looking into the new crew members to see if we have anyone that can be trusted for a covert mission. Our latest assignment seems to line up perfectly for what we need - perhaps co-opting someone from engineering or security will be useful.
Meanwhile, I'll be consulting with the Captain about other options. I think it's going to be faster - and perhaps safer - to look at a biological solution rather than technological. I just need a Tzenkethi brain...

Captain Julia Quintus 18:00 - Medical, Science Labs
Captain Quintus had just finished her official shift, but a captain's work was never done. She had a few stops to make before she settled in to wine and the inevitable crying child who would also be returning to her quarters a little after she did... whenever that was. On the rare occasions when the baby ever stopped crying, he was sleeping, and as cherubic as he looked in those moments, they were usually short-lived; a sound -- say, walking for instance, would wake him right back up. Great gods.
So she procrastinated on motherhood, heading to her first, and recently favorite, stop -- Sickbay. She had procured, thankfully, a few more recent bioscans from their recent Tzenkethi mission, detailed and full of lots of cellular-level analytics that Julia had no mind for. Had they been tactical readouts, perhaps yes. As it was... well, that was why she had a Sickbay to make use of it.
Swinging by Powell's office, she dropped off the padd, which had particularly useful notes on the biochemical elements of Tzenkethi neurology, and some equally well-rendered bits of detail regarding their military technology -- isotopes specific to their refining processes, alloys, and things of that sort. Pleased with herself, as if it were her own scientific hard work that had gone into producing the documents, she headed to her next errand with a bit of a spring in her step.
She decided to stop by Science first, hovering enthusiastically as they furiously were cross-checking old records on Tholian and Gorn technology. One of the faces, accompanied by pointed ears, looked new -- while Julia did not pretend to know every person on the ship by face perfectly, she knew thatAquarius had had new crew join recently, and she would have bet this was one of them. Giving a beneficent smile at the young Vulcan (or so she assumed), she interrupted pleasantly. "Hard at work, Ensign...?"

Ship's Science Officer
USS Aquarius
Science Log
The ships Science Bay seems to be state of the art..
End Log.
Science Personal Log, Supplemental
After arriving to the USS Aquarius Alicia, had barely seen the Science Lab, she only arrived a few hours/days ago, by shuttle craft.. She haven't had enough time to inventory the Science Lab yet..
End Log.
Alicia where lost in thought, about how she could make best use of the Science Equipment, when someone interrupted her, "Hard at work, Ensign...?" Someone said when she turned to see who it was, her casual attitude disappeared, and she saluted the Captain and said "Captain, what a pleasant surprise, I didn't know you would be inspecting the Science Lab.." in a not so Vulcan voice but more emotionally like a human's voice, since she was caught of guard by the Captain.. "If I'd known about your inspection, I would have made an effort to tidy the place up a bit.." Alicia said emotionless as ever..
If one were to look around the Science Lab at this time, most of the Equipment was just laying around, looking a bit messy..

Captain Julia Quintus 18:05 - Science Lab
Julia smiled slightly. "It would hardly be a science lab if experiments and notes were not strewn all over the place. And no worrying, this is hardly a formal inspection. Just making the rounds, as it were.
"You must be one of the new crew." A bit of recollection went off in her mind. "Ah yes -- you came aboard with your twin sister, is that right? How are you settling in?"

"Twin sister??" Alicia said trying to remember if she had a sister, but she couldn't remember.. Since Alicia and Alice hadn't seen each other for a very long time, they had a hard time remembering they were sisters..
"I'm settling in just fine, but who is this twin sister of mine you mentioned.." Alicia were quite puzzled that she forgot to remove emotion from her voice so she sounded quite, lost...

Captain Julia Quintus 18:00 - Science Lab
The captain raised an eyebrow. "Perhaps I am mistaken," she said easily. "I thought I had read... ah, but it does not matter." If there was one thing Julia had no intention of doing, it was inciting a dispute between squabbling siblings. "Besides, I am more interested in what you are making of the mission... and how you are settling in. It is not every day one gets to encounter Gorn and Tholians or be starting out on an Ambassador-class ship, hmm? And what is your specialisation?"

Ensign Alicia Skye 18:00 - Science Lab
Alicia looked The Captain's expression over, she looked like she had something on her mind she wasn't saying.. "I don't really mind the Gorn or the Tholians as long as they are friendly.. And for specialization, I like to study new lifeforms, and I'm quite an efficient Doctor, if I should say so myself.. But I didn't sign on as a doctor for this mission.. Just as a science officer.." Pausing for a few seconds before adding "Did that answer you question Captain??" Skye said..

Captain Julia Quintus 18:00 - Science Lab
The captain nodded, straightening slightly. "It is a pleasure to have you aboard with such qualifications." She smiled a bit. "And be certain to mention your medical cross-training to Doctor Ferron or Doctor Powell when you head down for your physical. Having an extra set of hands ready to help with trauma in an emergency would be very use. Not that I plan to ever lead the ship into fire, but..." Julia looked entirely innocent. "It does seem to happen rather often..."
She gave the ensign another quick nod, with one last glance around Science. "I suppose I should let you be back to it, then. Feel free to send any questions up to your superiors and if you need anything while you are settling in, please let me or Commander Cunningham know."

Engineering Log
Everything seems quiet in Engineering..
End Log.
Alice Skye Personal Log, Supplemental
Everything seems so quiet, it's like they haven't even notice I'm there.. For the time being I'll just blend in and do what's asked of me, until later..
End Log.
Walking into Engineering, it seems so quiet at first glance, but as soon as Alice gets to her console, all the lights just went out in Engineering.. 'What's going on??' Alice thought to herself while looking around Engineering to see if anyone had noticed, 'Seems like power outage, but the lights won't go out unless it's total system failure..' Skye didn't know if she should attempt to run a diagnostic on the power relay, she just waited for one of the senior officers to give her an order..

Ensign Alicia Skye
Ship's Science Officer
USS Aquarius
Science Log, Supplemental
The ships Science Bay seems to be state of the art.. New orders received, research on Gorn and Tholian history is required..
End Log.
Alicia Skye Personal Log, Supplemental
Everything things, seems to be quiet and slow, until the Captian walked into and said 'hello', just as she left, we received a request to research Gorn and Tholian's history, how hard could that be..
End Log.
Alicia started to pull, any information she could find on the Gorn from her console..
First glance at the Gorn's physiology they look like Alligators from Earth's history, had evolved into a humanoid lifeform at some point.. They were a hostile reptilian species, Allied with the Klingon Empire, details on this Alliance between the Klingon Empire and the Gorn is sketchy at best.. Ears looks like holes in their skulls, and many sharp teeth could be seen if they ever smiled or growled at you.. The Gorn's eyes can either be normal humanoid eyes complete with pupils, or silvery and faceted just like common insects from Earth.. The Gorn's skin seems like it's tough enough to repel, a boulder at close range, but if you hit it on the head with a huge boulder it might knock them out for a short while.. Gorn cells can regenerate at an alarming rate, if injured by weapons fire, they could patch themselves up rather quickly if taken care of.. The Gorn a raptilian humanoid species, of Female and Males, but the lifespan of a female Gorns is close to 21 years and male is close to 55 years by Human time perception..
Gorn Technology is close to that of the Federation, a Constitition-class starship would have to push their engine to dangerous levels to overtake a Gorn ship.. Gorn armament on starships, looked like phasers at first glance, but resembled disruptors more, when you take a closer look at them.. Gorn shield are tough enough to withstand a full barrage of phaser and photon torpede fire, with little or no appreciable damage, which would make their ships hard to disable, in a skirmish.. It seems like the Gorn had some kinda relations with the Tholians in the mirror universe..
Gorn's seem to have a knack for siding against the Federation, in every war recorded in the Federation archives..
'The Gorn's physiology seems quite interesting, I'll need to look more into it later..' Alicia thought to herself..

Ensign David Jameson
Assistant Engineering Officer
USS Aquarius
Engineering Log
Luckily, Ensign Howard and I got that blasted holo-room disconnected from main power. Hopefully that will prevent any further system failures because of the project. We still need to find someone who can start setting up an independent power supply while we are over on the ghost ship."
End Log
Ensign Jameson returned to Main Engineering. He noticed the other new Engineering officer working at a panel. He walked over to introduce himself, glad for the break from the holo-room's problems.
"Hi there," Jameson noticed that her console displayed the power systems, "How's everything looking after our little mishap with our resident time-bomb?"

Ensign Alice Skye Ship's Engineering Officer USS Aquarius
Alice thought about doing a diagnostic in the power relays, when a fellow Engineering Officer walked in and saying 'hi' and asking about the power outage which seems like he had course..
"Except for a slight overload, and a few relays blown, everything seems to be in order.." Alice replied..

Jameson looked over her shoulder at the readouts. "That's a relief, I'm glad that we took that damn room off the main power. Next on the list is to set up an independent power source for the holo-room. How experienced are you with secondary power generators?
